Doctors and Staff

Dr. Charles Abraham, Jr. D.V.M.

Dr. Abraham received his Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University in 1980, majoring in Biology. He also received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State in 1986, where he graduated with honors and distinction. He has over 17 years experience in private equine practice. Dr. Abraham founded Abraham’s Equine Clinic in 1991 and bought the MWSS in 2003. He is certified by Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in Embryo Transfer procedures.

Dr. Abraham is an Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine Advisory Board Member, Kirkwood Community College Equine Science Advisory Board Member, and a Cedar Valley Humane Society Board Member. He also is an instructor at Kirkwood Community College in their Equine Science Department.

Dr. Abraham is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association.


Dr. Christine Woodford, D.V.M., M.S.

Dr. Woodford graduated Summa Cum Laude from Creighton University in Omaha, NE in 1994 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry. She then received a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996. In 2002, Dr. Woodford graduated with honors from Iowa State University and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

While in veterinary school, Dr. Woodford completed externships at several large equine clinics across the country including Arizona Equine, Colorado State and Peterson Smith in Ocala. After graduation, she joined Abrahams Equine Clinic.


Dr. Jessica Young, D.V.M.

Dr. Jessica Young received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University where she graduated with honors and distinction. Prior to vet school, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Coe College in Cedar Rapids with a degree in Molecular Biology. Dr. Young spent the year prior to joining the practice at the Southwest Equine Medical and Surgical Center, an equine surgical and internal medicine referral center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
